Malta’s music scene is picking up the tempo in 2026, and the island’s X Factor panel is one big reason why. This year’s lineup — Aleandro Spiteri Monseigneur, Philippa Naudi, Amber, and Howard — blends seasoned industry smarts with fresh, pop-savvy instincts. Together they’ve turned the judges’ table into a conversation starter: part mentorship hub, part cultural showcase, and all about finding the next Maltese voice that can travel beyond the archipelago.

Aleandro Spiteri Monseigneur is the newest judge to join the panel. Aleandro was able to make music his full-time job and area of study at the age of 17! He is Red Electrick's keyboardist, a musical director, composer and arranger. Aleandro holds a degree in music and is published by Reservoir Media. He collaborates with artists, bands, producers, filmmakers and theatre-makers across diverse settings — from recording studios and concert stages to theatrical productions.

Philippa Naudi is back! She makes up one half of the sister duo The New Victorians, formed in 2011 after their success at the Alchemy Songwriting Competition in the U.S. In 2015 they released their debut album Seeker Seeker, featuring singles such as "Keep Me In Love," and in 2018 they issued the EP Silence, after which they opened for multi‑platinum artist Anastacia on her European tour. The duo were the first all‑female Maltese company to present an original double bill at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with their shows MARA and Rave & Behave.

Amber Bondin is also back this season. She represented Malta in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Warrior". Although she is known for her powerhouse vocals, most people will be surprised to know that she is a former judo athlete turned singer, She has performed at the Isle of MTV and during the CHOGM opening ceremony in front of Queen Elizabeth II. In addition to her music career, Amber is a primary school teacher.

Howard Keith Debono anchors the panel with veteran wisdom. He is the founding President of the Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA), serving from its inception in July 2020 through late 2023. He is a music producer and Earth Garden Festival Organizer. He has managed artists such as Ira Losco, and worked with many well-known local artists namely The Rifffs MT, The New Victorians, and Airport Impressions, among others. He has also worked on international film productions too, such as The Hulk and Lord of the Rings.

Thanks to this amazing panel of judges, viewers get a 360-degree education in what it takes to become a star: craft, brand, showmanship, and staying power. The chemistry is real — debates spark, alliances form, and occasional mentorship duets provide some of the season’s best television.
