Highly-acclaimed Greek conductor Michalis Economou leads the orchestra on a musical trip across the solar system with Gustav Holst's epic orchestral suite The Planets, whose seven movement each represent a planet and its corresponding significance in astrology.

The concert opens with Dmitry Shostakovich's Festive Overture, which he composed in just three days to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the October Revolution in 1954.

Economou's own work, Elegies for Death and Life, is inspired by a Romantic-era painting by John Martin, and is based on ancient Greek poems. For its performance, the orchestra will be joined by mezzo-soprano Clare Ghigo.

  • In the event of an event being cancelled, postponed or unsatisfactory, or in the event that Buyer is not allowed to watch the event for any reason, SHOWSHAPPENING cannot be held responsible for any liability including any costs whatsoever incurred by the Buyer in connection with the said event.
