Description
An Archeology of Words: Literary Genres as Sites of Excavation is a panel discussion taking place on 25 August at 8:00 PM at Vincent’s Eco-Estate, l-Imġarr, as part of the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival 2025. Glen Calleja, a writer, book artist, and interdisciplinary practitioner, will moderate the discussion between the Spanish poet Carmen Camacho (invited as part of Versopolis, a platform supporting emerging European poetic voices) and two Maltese authors: Omar N’Shea, an essayist, and Michael Zammit, a poet. The evening will feature readings by all guests, a Maltese translation of Camacho’s poetry by Jean Paul Borg, a musical interlude by Kym Pepe and Jimmy Bartolo, and the opportunity to purchase a limited special edition of Michael Zammit’s But For Us a Steel Wall, handcrafted by Glen Calleja. A trilingual chapbook of poems by Carmen Camacho, published by Inizjamed with the support of Versopolis, will be available for free. This event, supported by the National Book Council, will be multilingual.
