The performative experience makes reference to defining works from the artist’s collection, other key moments in Maltese art history and Portelli’s own biography. ‘Frank U Jien’ transcends any singular artistic medium to create a performative understanding of a critical point in Malta’s history.

Set in his old art studio in Attard, which he himself designed - his ultimate artefact - it is a unique opportunity for audiences to experience art in a way that emulates Portelli’s collaborative and experimental spirit, which enabled him to push boundaries and contribute towards change on the Island.

Frank u Jien is supported by Arts Council Malta.
