To celebrate the tricentennial of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St John Passion the festival has commissioned Kor Malta, the Valletta Baroque Ensemble and various top local soloists to perform this iconic work at the sumptuous St John’s Co Cathedral.This oratorio was written during Bach's first year as director of church music in Leipzig and was first performed on Good Friday in 1724.

To celebrate the tricentennial of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St John Passion the festival has commissioned KorMalta, the Valletta Baroque Ensemble and various top local soloists to perform this iconic work at the sumptuous St John’s Co Cathedral.This oratorio was written during Bach's first year as director of church music in Leipzig and was first performed on Good Friday in 1724.
