Description

Alexey Shor wrote his cycle “The Well Tempered Chanson” inspired by the creativity of the urban folklore of the Soviet era, a time full of radical changes in social and economic, cultural and moral life. Confronting urban chansons with unexpected and even surprising styles, he changes the songs to an extent that the original music is transformed into something completing new. Like in other of his compositions, Shor wrote the leading part of this cycle for the warm and luxurious sound of the violin. Leonard Schreiber, Belgian violinist, plays along the “Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège” under the baton of Gergely Madaras. The second half of the concert is dedicated to the revitalizing power that Robert Schumann evokes in his Symphony No. 1, also known as the "Spring Symphony".

The InClassica Malta International Music Festival is organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC), led by Konstantin Ishkhanov, in collaboration with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).
