The Waterpolo Marathon Foundation was founded by a group of waterpolo lovers and long-time friends, active in the local waterpolo community for many a year, who for a third consecutive time, have come together to create a world first, 24 hour waterpolo marathon spread over two days. This in full support of athletes with disabilities in the belief that sport has and will continue to help and motivate sports' unbounded inclusivity and that the collaborative efforts will contribute in supporting and financing the athlete's goals in representing Malta in the recurring international Special Olympic Games, next taking place in Berlin 2023.
