ESPLORA WE ARE OPEN!

We have 3 different four-hour trails to choose from, as indicated below. The experience also includes a 1-hour slot at the EsploraCafe.

Trail A - Earth and Beyond

If you love learning about our Planet, then this is the trail for you! Here you can explore several exhibition galleries, namely, Earth, Eco-Life, Human Body, Electricity, Our Solar System, Life in Space and Esplora’s own Adventure Park! As part of this experience, you will also get to see our mighty Science Communicators during the Science Show ‘Weatherology’. Finally, you also get to end your visit at our EsploraCafe to indulge in one of our treats!

Trail B- Music for the Senses

Esplora, think and appreciate your senses by joining this fantastic trail! Here you can explore several exhibition galleries, namely, Motion, Optics, Music, Illusion, Engineering, Media and Nature of Matter. As part of this experience, you get to ‘Pump up the Volume’ through one of our most popular Science Shows. Finally, you also get to visit at our EsploraCafe for a refreshing beverage and one of our new tasty snacks!

Trail C - Little Esploras (3 to 5-year-olds)

This experience is dedicated to those children between 3 and 5 years of age. The Little Esploras playscape area has a Bicycle Track, a Snug area, a Pirate Ship area, and water exhibits for guaranteed fun. Through this trail you and your children will have access to both the inside and outside areas of the little Esploras section including some ‘Bubbly surprises’. After some fun and play, you also get to visit our EsploraCafe for a little break and a delicious healthy snack!

Esplora Science Centre Terms & Conditions

We are very excited to welcome you back at Malta’s interactive Science Centre! We have been preparing for the reopening of quite some time now, making sure the centre is compliant with all health and safety regulations and to continue offering you, a great experience where you can immerse yourself in the world of science and enjoy fantastic science shows.

Below kindly find information on how to purchase your entry ticket and new regulations that Esplora will be implementing to ensure that health and safety measures are observed.

Adults (16+ yrs of age): €6

Children (0 to 2yrs of age): Free

Children/teenagers (3 to 15yrs) + Disability Card Holders + Seniors: €4

Carers: Free, upon presentation of verification email of booking

Complimentary tickets and Vouchers: Free, upon presentation of verification email of booking

Educators + spouse and their 2 children: Free, upon presentation of verification email of booking

English Language Teachers (1 Adult + 2 children): Free, upon presentation of verification email of booking

Tickets Purchase and Other info

Visitors will be choosing one of three, 4-hour trails comprising of a 2-hour experience at 2 Exhibit Galleries, a 1-hour Science Show and lastly the possibility of spending 1 hour at the EsploraCafe` at the end of this experience;
Children aged 0 – 2 years enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Children (aged 0 - 2 years), Carers accompanying Disability card holders; Educators & English Language Teachers and persons who would like to redeem their Complimentary tickets/Vouchers are kindly requested to contact Esplora at least 72hrs prior the visit (Esplora Bookings’ department on +356 2360 2299 or by email at bookings@esplora.org.mt) indicating time slot preference and reference number. The respective Bookings’ officer shall confirm availabilities within 24hrs through an email. This email will be used as a verification of booking;
Visitors aged between 12 and 16 years, who plan to visit Esplora without an accompanying adult, are kindly asked to present a photocopy of a parent/guardian’s ID card;
This price structure does not apply to special events. Please follow special event campaigns for details;

Measures and Protocol - Esplora

Record of names, contact details, date and time of visit will be retained for 28 days in order to facilitate contact tracing in case this is required;
At Esplora we prioritise your health. Due to public health guidelines a number of exhibits shall not be in operation.
For Health and Safety reasons, the leasing of lockers shall not be made available;
For Health and Safety reasons, the Planetarium experience will only be limited to the Universe exhibition galleries;
Persons who seemed unwell may be asked to refrain from entering Esplora or continue the trail;
Due to several variables and instructions from Health authorities, events may be cancelled/postponed, or the venue closed, possibly at short notice.
Notwithstanding that Esplora staff will do their best to offer an efficient service, delays and other inconveniences may be experienced a result of visitor registration;
Esplora employees have been trained on COVID-19 safety protocols and servicing;
There will be ongoing cleaning and disinfection of Esplora throughout the day;
Perspex screens have been installed at Reception and all Cash registers’ areas;

While at Esplora – Visitor Experience

All incoming visitors will have their temperature gauged and would need to apply hand-sanitizer prior entering the Interactive Science Centre;
Visitors are kindly requested to refrain from ‘touching’ Esplorashop gadgets to avoid cross-contamination. Assistance can be sought from EsploraShop personnel
As an added precaution our employees shall be wearing Visors and it will be mandatory for visitors wear facial coverings during their visit. The latter is not applicable to visitors a) who are 3 years old or younger b) when outdoor. Masks and Styluses will be available for sale from the EsploraShop;
Smoking is not permitted onsite;
Visitors are kindly requested to bring their own ear defenders, if required;
Limited number of entrance tickets will be made available per group – Maximum 32 pax in a Zone;
Visitors are to adhere to all social distancing guidelines. An Esplora brief will be sent by email 24-hours prior to the visit and another brief will be held on site prior to entry in the Exhibition Galleries;
Visitors are kindly requested to disinfect/wash their hands prior to entering the respective gallery/area/cafeteria. Disinfectant gel will be made available at multiple strategic locations;
Social distance is not applicable to members residing at the same household;
Payment with credit cards is highly recommended for products/services purchased;
Visitor experience shall be time bound, maximum of 4 hours per group
Families may bring snacks and be consumed outdoors at the Playscape Little Esploras, Adventure Park and Outdoor experience.
Visitors are requested to follow signage instructions placed in designated areas around Esplora and also directions through the Health and Safety briefing;
Personal disinfection wipes may not be used on exhibits;

ShowsHappening Terms & Conditions

No refund on tickets will be made under any circumstances unless otherwise instructed by the event organiser. In the case of a refund being issued for tickets bought, refund will be issued on the Ticket face value, and ShowsHappening booking fee will NOT be refunded.
Venue Owner reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission to any persons whose conduct is disorderly or unbecoming.
The Promoter may add, withdraw or substitute artistes and/or vary advertised programmes, event times, seating arrangements and audience capacity without prior notice.
The Promoter/Venue Owner may postpone, cancel,interrupt or stop the event due to adverse weather, dangerous situations, or any other causes beyond his reasonable control.
Information is collected from those registering with www.showshappening.com in order to facilitate ticket purchase or other services available. This information is collected and used in accordance with ShowsHappening's Privacy Policy, which forms part of these conditions.
In the event of an event being cancelled, postponed or unsatisfactory, or in the event that Buyer is not allowed to watch the event for any reason, SHOWSHAPPENING cannot be held responsible for any liability including any costs whatsoever incurred by the Buyer in connection with the said event.
