Soprano Gillian Zammit joins a piano trio featuring pianist Gisèle Grima, violinist Agnieszka Kuzma and cellist Ákos Kertész for a night of vocal chamber music, starting with Berg’s Sieben Frühe Lieder (seven early songs), with Schumann’s Phantasiestücke providing a beautiful instrumental interlude.

The seven songs through which Shostakovich set poems by Alexander Blok to music each use different instrument configurations, starting with solo accompaniment and followed by duos, with the piano trio playing together only in the last song of the cycle.
