The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by famed Venezuelan-born American conductor Ilyich Rivas, presents a sublime symphonic programme featuring two German musical giants, Beethoven and Brahms.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 is a cheerful and lighthearted work, with brilliantly developed musical fragments intertwined with subtle revolutionary elements culminating in a dazzling, joyous finale. The Fourth and last symphony of Brahms is more sombre in character, with haunting melodies, rich orchestration and lyrical beauty throughout, from its graceful opening two notes to its powerful ending.
