Description

A delivery driver meets a prostitute before his date with a cleaner, who shares an illicit encounter with a student she works for, before he sneaks off to a cheap hotel for an affair with a married woman… On and on it goes, as partners meet, bed and move on to the next in a dance of love and lust that intertwines the lives of ten strangers from all backgrounds and classes.

Arthur Schnitzler’s 1903 play was banned for obscenity on publication and sparked angry riots when it premiered in Berlin. This bold reimagining places the action in the heart of contemporary Malta, exploring the sexual politics of power, desire, language, class and identity.

Directed by Philip Leone-Ganado and starring Simone Spiteri and Anton Saliba, two actors play 10 characters in this provocative, funny and seductive tale of interconnected relationships and the human passions that rip through the social fabric.

This play features strong language, sexual situations and mature themes and is not suitable for audiences below the age of 18.

This is a bilingual performance in English and Maltese, with English surtitles.
