Squadron Classics returns with it's annual appointment, this time featuring a night of unadulterated distorted techno, brutal electro, high tension hypnotic arpeggios, rancid acid and degraded musical forms with a line-up that represents the modern innovators of today's scene. For this one, we have two acts which have been on the receiving end of so much widespread praise recently - Heland Hauff and Voiski, both for the very first time in Malta together with a very rare live appreance by Son Of.

HELENA HAUFF (Werk Discs / Ninja Tune)

Helena Hauff's sonic aesthetic is rooted in a twilight-lit area of colliding sharp acid sounds, cold Detroit rhythmics, monolith industrial scapes and minimalist wave atmospherics. Her sound world is intense, electrified and futuristic with strong traces of underlying emotionalism and experimentalism. Her influences can be spotted in her precise and eclectic sets, where heavyweight industrial beats, abstract experimentalism meet EBM rawness, dirty Acid, Chicago, Electro and Wave. Helena’s musical path started from digging records from her local library collection, which led her to early exposure to such artists as The Cure or Karlheinz Stockhausen. This helped her develop a unique taste to shape her own artistic visions.

VOISKI - live (L.I.E.S. / Dekmantel / Delsin)

Voiski is a talented name to watch who's already gaining the props he deserves. For several years he has struck a singular path in techno music, oscillating between experimental projects and the production of tracks marked by his signature style. Within the large spectrum of his interventions, Voiski stands out for rigor of his infinitely repetitive loops. These, combined with acerbic drum beats, construct an analog excitation that carries his music to the heart of futurist and sentimental layerings. From his proximity to the intriguing electrodance duo Kartei to the experimental label Silicate Musique which he codirects, the amplitude of his activity bears witness to the authenticity of his engagement, one which reconciles the demands of dance floor techno with the construction of an introspective vision.

SON OF - live (Opal Tapes)

‘Son of’ (aka Jupiter Jax) is Rudi Agius’ take on society’s incessant obsession with social zombification. As exemplified by his debut release ‘Social Zombies’ on Opal Tapes , ‘Son Of’ raises the fog off a murkier reality; one expressed through an acoustic palette with post-hologramic dread. With electro-anthem tracks like ‘Conscentia’ and ‘Extrovert them’, we are more than excited to have ‘Son of’ live on the night!

The Promoter may add, withdraw or substitute artistes and/or vary advertised programmes, event times, seating arrangements and audience capacity without prior notice.
The Promoter/Venue Owner may postpone, cancel,interrupt or stop the event due to adverse weather, dangerous situations, or any other causes beyond his reasonable control.
